“Your legacy doesn’t lay in one singular thing; it lays in every single life you touch.”

Catherine Gibbon was an integral part of our community, and she has left her legacy through her love of family and passion for art.

Cathy was touched by the vision of Margaret’s Place Hospice and offered to contribute through her art. She wanted to make the hospice a more comfortable and serene environment for the residents it housed. All of us were awestruck by the beautiful pieces she created.

The first a series of cloud formations, symbolizing the connection between life and the afterlife. And the second a piece named “Circle of Life”, symbolic of our connection with the natural environment, which is something she held dear throughout her life. These pieces proudly hold court in Margaret’s Place and will forever resemble the beautiful life she’s lived.

Cathy’s daughters, Alison and Janet, are also part of the Villa community; Alison as a dietician in our long-term care home and Janet as a business owner in Dundas. Through them, and the beautiful art she left behind, her legacy and life will live on.

Cathy was a beautiful and gentle soul, and we are so proud and privileged to have had her in our community.

May she Rest In Peace.
